this is gonna be a really long post. so get comfortable.

starting from last saturday. choir alumni meeting at siglap. so few of us turned up. let's see. me, ty, grace, sumi, mei yan, huiting, jas, zaidah, mabel, ruben, and sam. as usual i was running late cos of the crazy bus. that ty called me twice to ask where the heck am i? coming coming lah! nice to see my choir again. doesn't look too bad. me, ty, jas, zaidah and grace joined them for their warm up. haiz. so long never sing properly liao, hard to keep up with them. going so high. but the choir sounded good. the jap song was miles better than the mess when i last heard it. now i can actually hear the tune. their ave verum corpus is so cool!! i wish i recorded it. the other song, don't know what it is. mixture of english, chinese and malay. only thing missing was tamil. :D their syf is today. wish them all the best. i think they should be alright. maybe scrape a gold but i think definately a silver. jia you guys!!

a bit on my generation's choir mates. most of them still look the same. sam's a bit tanned. but the real transformation is ruben. he's so skinny now. i really didn't recognise him. some guy i know wasn't there though. the gals were still the same. they were asking if we wanted to perform with the male/female choruses or the chamber choir (whatever that is) during the c0ncert. wow. i would so love to except that i can't. sigh. they'll be doing practices every saturday. supposed to tell grace about the ticket sales. but i think i can't get anyone to buy from me. :p. seriously though, $15 is really ex. shok li said that she got people from her sp choir interested but when they heard the price, immediate "no!" but i'll try to make myself free to go down.

next event on saturday was miss wee's wedding! although technically she's no longer miss wee, i'll just call her that cos i don't know what else to call her. mrs lim sounds weird and weiling is a bit disrespectful.

supposed to meet theo at 1.30 so me and sumi left siglap early. at 1.30pm. i arrived at the mrt.
me msg to theo: hey, i'm here! where r u?
theo msg to me: on the way. jacq meeting also at 1.45.
ok. so i'll wait. expected that she'll be late. so i wait. and wait. and wait. jac arrives. wait some more. more people arrive. gosh! can't recognise them. they've changed so much. even jac i could barely recognise her. and i malued myself when i saw chia hui and i said "she looks familiar. do we know her?" dotz. anyway, we collected the people we were supposed to collect except theo. past 2pm already. we don't want to be late and make the grand entrance after the bride. so i call her.
me: ger ah! where are you??!!!
theo: i don't know.
me: what do you mean you don't know?!
theo: don't know. i'm in the bus somewhere.
me: bus?!?!?!?! where are you?
theo: don't know.
me: ok, what landmarks can you see?
theo: erm... ... ... ...
me (really pissed now): which bus are you on?
theo: erm...well, i'm not too sure about that...
me: whaddya mean you're not sure?! how can you not know??!!!!?!?!?!?!?! why didn't you take the mrt from bedok??!!
theo: ... ...
me: i don't care liao. i'm going off first. we are late already! you better find your own way!!!!
so we happily abandoned her, after exchanging anecdotes about how she always gets lost. and went to the church. geylang chinese methodist church. met up with the rest of the class there. ok, not the whole class but lots of them anyway. nice to meet up again even though we have somewhat drifted apart. it's been 3 years.

at the church, the groom was standing at the entrance welcoming people. he knew straight away that we were miss wee's former students. i didn't know he was the groom until i saw the wedding photos. there was a whole book of wedding photos there. my favourite one was the one on the last page. pic of the two of them standing at the beach, dark blue/twilight background. holding hands facing each other. but you can only see the silouette (don't know the spelling) but it's so romantic. sigh.

the church hall itself was pretty small. but air-coned. saw lots of the Sac teachers. jac was trying to avoid miss chia, to no avail. there was a mini video presentation at the beginning. the theme of the wedding was "everlasting love...the purpose" and the bible verse "the Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, o Lord, endures forever - do not abandon the works of your hands" psalm 138:8. the video presentation focused on this verse. beautiful.very evangelical. even though it was a wedding, the service was still very very god focused. even their wedding programme book was evangelical with testimonials from the bride and groom of their relationship with god. god, not each other. woah.

enter the bride. music of canon in d. *g* the flower girl so cute. the page boy carrying the bible looked like he was going to drop it. aiyo. so cute. miss wee was so pretty! wearing something like a tube dress, laced up at the back, nice long gown and train. she lost those psychotic looking glasses, long hair dyed brown. pretty.

then there was a worship session. singing songs on love. then the pastor talked. he told this joke: a woman was walking in the desert and she came across a lamp like aladdin. she rubbed the lamp and a genie came out. going to give her one wish. so she thought a while. then she took a map and showed the genie the middle east area. said this place always at war. can you make peace there? genie said "i'm good, but i'm not that good. think of another wish." so the woman did. she wished for the perfect husband. must do this, and that and this and that. the genie listened and then said, "let me see the map again". :D moral of the story, finding the perfect man is more difficult than solving political problems. the pastor based his talk on ephesians 5 (i think) that verse that talks about love your wife, honor your husband. it was an interesting talk. he really explained what it meant. don't ask me exactly cos i don't remember anymore. the bad part of the talk was that after the english was done, the whole thing was repeated in chinese. :p we noticed sr cecily sleeping during the chinese version. really nodding off. hahaha! so amusing.

after that, they exchanged vows. *g* on the 'higher ground' of the altar. seriously. the officiating person (don't know his title. not the pastor) told them to move to higher ground for that. again, lots of focus on god. they were the second focus. officiating person then tells the groom to tell to miss wee:
officiating person: tell her "you are mine"
tze locke (groom) to miss wee: you are mine
officiating person: can i kiss you now?
tze locke to miss wee: i want to kiss you now.
then they kiss. *gg* sweet. so sweet! i wonder if he's the guy that always drives her to school in the blue van. that is the ultimate sweetie. driving her to work everyday and all.

signing the wedding documents, the p &w group came up and sang some chinese songs specially for miss wee. after they signed, the newly weds went to the altar and kneel down and give thanks. meantime, showing another video presentation on "god so loved the world that he gave his only son..." that verse. then another presentation. this time celebrating their love and life and thanking their families. then, the end "presenting mr and mrs lim tze locke!" no wedding march music though. some other song. yups.

reception downstairs. waited forever for miss wee to notice us and have time for us. we bought gift vouchers for her (and her husband) and a home made card. jeanette made it i think. very simple. just a pink construction paper with hearts over it and we wrote messages inside the hearts. take photos, chat a while then we left. i finally caught up with theo at the church. that gal. *shakes head*

anyway, when i get the photo we took, i'll put it here.

last thing to talk about. i got a job finally. i'm a temp sales associate at john little parkway. please don't purposely come down and look for me. i'll go and hide. :D the interview was weird. we were sent to fill up employment form at the stock room of parkway JL. had some maths questions to answer. blur me was struggling with mental sums until i remembered finally that my hp got calculator. it was the easiest interview i ever attended. the manager, wendy, just called us in groups of 10, explained the various positions available, talk some more. the only thing she asked us was our job experience, in which everyone just repeated everything written on the application form. easy.

so i got the job. went for the orientation at specialist center. went through the various documents, shifts, contract. the timing is so crazy. i wonder if their permanent staff have such crazy schedules. i'm assigned to ladies wear, lingerie, toiletries, cosmetics, shoes and handbags. not too happy about it cos i know nuts about that departments. anyway, can't complain. i got the job.

yesterday went for cash till training. the trainer, ragu, reminds me of naresh. accent and all. only ragu's sense of humour is way better than naresh. still a bit confused about the cash till. hope i don't screw up. we were divided into groups to try out the till. and my group incurred a balance of $300 missing. :p lucky it's just during the training. and we have no idea what happened to that $300. i met this girl shah who's at parkway with me and in the same shift as me. so new friend. we'll be together during work. just different department. she's in household i think. but that's better than being totally alone.

right. long enough. have to finish up so i can go study my cash till notes so that i don't screw up on friday. bye!
